Olympic Marketing

Launched on September 1, 2003, the Beijing Olympic Marketing Programme includes a sponsorship programme, licensing programme and a ticketing programme. The sponsorship programme has three tiers, with its "Beijing 2008 Partners" in the first tier, "Beijing 2008 Sponsors" in the second, and with "Beijing 2008 Suppliers"in the third tier.

By the end of April 2006, 11 enterprises had signed on as Beijing 2008 Partners, 9 as the Beijing 2008 Sponsors, and 2 as Beijing 2008 Suppliers. The licensing programme for the 2008 Olympic Games was launched on November 2, 2005. Retail stores for the licensed merchandise have been set up in many cities on the Chinese mainland. The Beijing Olympic marketing programme has made remarkable progress, and it has promising prospects.

 

In 2006, BOCOG plans to complete its solicitations for Olympic sponsors, and will seek suppliers of ticketing and sports equipment. Comprehensive overseas solicitations by licensed Olympic enterprises and the licensing programme will begin.
