Donghuamen night market to reopen at 2018 Shijingshan temple fair

On February 11, Shijingshan Amusement Park released main activities of its 2018 Spring Festival exotic temple fair to be held from February 16 to 22 (from the first day to the seventh day of the first lunar month).

The temple fair aims to provide wonderful entertainment programs and traditional Beijing snacks for citizens to enjoy a joyful Chinese lunar new year.

This year, the temple fair will highlight the reopening of 32-year-old Donghuamen night market, which was closed and removed from Wangfujing in June of 2016 as Beijing’s overall planning had required. Owing to early efforts and preparations, Donghuamen night market’s businesses will gather at the temple fair and reproduce the bustling scene of the market with traditional Beijing snacks like boiled tripe, fried enema and sugar-coated haws.

In addition, dozens of new entertainment programs will make debut at the temple fair this year and the upgraded “Dream Star” Ferris wheel will be formally put into operation for the Spring Festival. The more comfortable and safer Ferris wheel will provide visitors with a better ride experience.
