Ba Guo Bu Yi

This Chengdu-based chain restaurant's compound looks like a traditional Chinese inn—you almost expect Michelle Yeoh or Zhang Ziyi to come tearing through. Ba Guo Bu Yi's main building has small, private rooms that are only available by reservation-the rest of the seating is in the outer wings. The decor is classy, but understated, with black-and-white photos of Sichuan adorning the walls and Ikea placemats on the table. The menu has unique and authentic Sichuan dishes such as cold turtle and spicy intestines. Ba Guo Bu Yi is a great addition to the growing number Houhai neighbourhood's restaurants.
