The Beijing Olympic Park, also known as the Olympic Green, opened to public free of charge on October 10, 2008. Tourists can visit the Olympic Green without tickets, in the same way as visiting sites like Tian'anmen Square. Tickets will still be needed when visiting Olympic venues such as the Bird's Nest (National Stadium), Water Cube (National Aquatics Center) and the National Indoor Stadium. The Olympic Branch Line of the Beijing Subway also reopened since the Olympic Park opened to the public on October 10.

Ticket information: At present, tickets are necessary to visit the Bird's Nest and Water Cube.
Tickets are now being sold from a booth outside the Water Cube and only tickets allowing access over the next couple of days are being sold, with a limit of two tickets per customer. The venue is open to visitors from 9:00 to 19:00 and all ticket holders will enter through the south gate and exit through the north.
The ticket price of Water Cube is 30 RMB, and the ticket price of Bird's Nest is 50 RMB, with free entry for children shorter than 1.2 meters.

Rest area for tourists
Tips: On entering the Water Cube and Bird's Nest, all visitors must pass through security, articles like bags and backpacks must be inspected. The security level is lower than the Olympics, visitors can bring beverages and food into the stadium, but lighters and flammable and explosive goods are forbidden. There is are fixed parking spaces in the Olympic Green, so bus and subway are the most convenient way to be there. |
