JI Wei is an outstanding Chinese zither performer, educator and master’s supervisor at the Central Conservatory of Music. She was rated as one of the top 10 successful Chinese women in the world by a Hong Kong-based magazine Jessica in 2010. She won “China Gold Record Best Performance Award", an authoritative music award of the country. The zither concerto Mooring at Night by Maple Bridge she played was included and published (piano concerto by Mr. Lang Lang) by the world's most authoritative record company DG Records (German Phonograph Record Company).

She has held over one hundred concerts at home and abroad. She ever performed at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, NCPA, Sydney Opera House, Golden Hall of Vienna, Esplanade in Singapore, La Fenice Opera House in Venice, Zurich Concert Hall, Royal Albert Hall in Britain, Amsterdam Concert Hall, Harpa Concert Hall in Iceland, Helsinki Music Center, Radio City Music Hall in New York, Munich Philharmonic Hall and other world-famous venues for performing arts. She cooperated with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, NCPA Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra in the United States, German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, German State Philharmonic Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, China Philharmonic Orchestra, Iceland Capus Orchestra, Netherlands New Orchestra, Switzerland NEC Orchestra, Netherlands ATLAS Modern Orchestra, Les Temps Modernes in France, French Baroque Orchestra, New York Chorus and T?lzer Knabenchor (Boys Choir) in Germany to stage a concert or give solo performance at Venice International Music Festival, British BBC Music Festival, Saar Music Festival in Germany, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in Germany, Helsinki Art Festival in Finland, Corbak Festival in Switzerland, DMDF Music Festival in Iceland, Belfort International Music Festival in France, EUP Art Festival, Cape Town International Music Festival in South Africa, Beijing International Music Festival, the opening concert for Sino-French Culture Year, the opening concert of NCPA, Royal Danish Concert, the concert marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the EU and China, NCPA New Year's Concert, Chinese Spring Festival Concert, UNESCO Prize Presentation Ceremony, the opening ceremony of the World Conference on Women and other world music events.
