Pinggu District, covering a total area of 1,075 square kilometers,is divided into 21 townships with a population of 380,000. Most of the area is mountainous. Its indigenous agricultural products include walnuts,chestnuts and apricots. Pinggu District is also rich in natural resources like gold.
