Resume of Vice Mayor Zhang Gong

Zhang Gong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, Director-General of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, Secretary of its Party Leadership Group, member of the Eleventh CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and deputy to the Eleventh National People’s Congress.

Born in Beijing in August 1961, he started his career in August 1983 and joined the CPC in April 1992. He received the Master Degree of Economics (majoring in Business Management) from an in-service graduate program at the Capital University of Economics and holds the title of Senior Engineer.

The previous leadership positions Mr. Zhang Gong held include Deputy Director and Director of the Beijing Electric Appliance Institute; General Manager of Beijing Transformer Plant; Director, Deputy General Manager and a member of the CPC Standing Committee of Beijing Mechanical & Electrical Industry (Group) Co., Ltd.; Director, Deputy General Manager and a member of the CPC Standing Committee of Beijing Jingcheng Machinery Electric Holding Co.,Ltd.; Deputy Director-General of Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and member of Beijing Municipal Industrial Working Committee; Deputy Director-General, Member and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform and Director-General of Beijing Municipal Energy & Economic Operation Office (concurrently); Vice Mayor and member of the Party Leadership Group of Beijing Municipal Government; Director-General of Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform and Secretary of its Party Leadership Group; Director-General of Beijing Municipal Energy & Economic Operation Office (concurrently).
