Vice Mayor Cai Fuchao

Mr. Cai Fuchao is Director-General of the Publicity Department and a Standing Member of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Beijing Municipality.

Mr. Cai Fuchao started his career as a business journalist at Beijing Daily where he took numerous management and editorial positions ranging from Deputy Director of Industry and Commerce, Director of Finance and Trade, to Chief of the Editor-in-Chief's Office, Member of the Editorial Board, Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Mr. Cai Fuchao later served as Deputy Director-General of the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and Director-General of the International Communication Office of Beijing Municipality, Deputy Secretary-General of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Executive Deputy Director-General of the General Office of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee. In January 2008, he was elected vice mayor of Beijing.

Responsibilities: Mr. Cai Fuchao is in charge of culture, heritage protection, radio, film and television, publication, copyright, cultural and ethical enhancement.
