They have carried off many national, provincial and municipal awards for drama writing, directing, performance and set design, including the National Project to the Distillation of the Stage Art Award, the "Five-One" Project Award by Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, the Wenhua Award by the Ministry of Culture, the Plum Blossom Prize, the CAO Yu Script Award, the China Golden Lion Award for Drama and the Magnolia Award. Besides, the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre focuses very much on expanding its cultural exchanges with other countries in the world to learn advanced drama composition ideas from them and produce drama art works from an international perspective. Over the past 20 years since its establishment, the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre has produced and staged 262 Chinese and foreign works for an audience of 6.8 million.
