Public Transportation System is the artery of a city, and it is especially important for our capital city's development. Infrastructure is the basic support for the operation and development of Public Transportation. By the end of 2000, the Head Office possess 8 maintenance depots, 2 overhaul parks, 1 junction station, 23 central stations, 343 terminal stations, 31 gas stations, including 18 CNG and 13 LPG, all of which have laid a strong foundation for the up-rising operation in capital's public transportation business in new century.

Beijing Public Transportation Dispatching Center

Beijing Public Transportation Dispatching Center is located in Wu Jia Cun Lu, Feng Tai District, covering an area of 6200m2, with 29281m2 of total floor area. The main office building is 22 stories high, with 3 stories of basement and 19 stories above ground. The height of the construction cornice is 73.95 meters and the distance between the rooftop antenna and the ground is 120.45 meters.

Terminal Yard

Terminal yard is the backbone pillar of the Public Transportation net. The construction of these terminal yards is the core of Public Transportation infrastructure task. During the Ninth-Five-Year-Plan period, to meet the speedy development, a lot of convenient terminal yards with multi-function and attractive appearance have been built to express the new image of public transportation enterprises, and reasonable land-occupation and compact layout are also the feature of these terminal yards.

Terminal Station

Terminal stations are parts of transportation network infrastructure and they are the keynote of infrastructure construction task. During the Ninth-Five-Year-Plan period, with the extended bus-lines and the intensified transportation net, the construction work of terminal stations also enjoy a good development. In the past five years, 34 new-style and high quality Bus & Trolley Terminal Stations came into use, which provide convenient services with reasonable design structure and comfortable surroundings. These terminal stations offer a strong foundation and guarantee for citizens' outgoing convenience and for our city's further development in transportation network.

To implement the guidelines from central government and municipal party committee & municipal government on the issues of environmental protection and motor vehicles end gas emission control, under the unified leadership of Head Office, great achievements in gas station construction are shown obviously during the Ninth-Five-Year-Plan period. We totally built 18 CNG Gas Stations (1parent station and 17 subsidiary stations) and 14 LPG Gas Stations, which can provide gas-filling service for 4900 buses.

The Parent CNG Gas Station has adopted new technology to dispose its input natural gas and serves as gas resource to supply subsidiary stations with car-use compressed gas. Parent Station is the basis upon which the CNG Gas Stations' construction work can be accelerated.

CNG is a kind of car-use compressed natural gas, which can improve atmospheric environment and optimize energy source structure.

LPG Gas Station

LPG is a kind of car-use compressed petroleum gas. The construction work of LPG will affect many aspects such as the image of capital city, citizens' daily life etc., thus it becomes the key infrastructure project in the Ninth-Five-Year-Plan.
