Quick China was founded in December 1996 on Ankara's Arjantin Street when Boğaç Üner, Ali Doğul and Engin Aras entered into a partnership. For five years it served as a cozy fast food Chinese restaurant with its 25-table dining room. Throughout this period the restaurant's manifest was to beget the pleasure of its customers by serving Chinese cuisine.
In 2001 the restaurant moved to its present location on Uğur Mumcu Street so as to provide higher quality service to its customers in enhanced conditions. Now there is seating for 150 people in the winter and 250 in the summer. There is one VIP room for 25 people, a Sushi room for 15 people and 10 person capacity for Teppanyaki. The menu boasts around 250 types of far eastern food.
Since 2002, as per request of the customers, sushi has been added to the menu. Prepared by foreign cooks it is said to be the equivalent of any foreign restaurant. With the addition of sushi to the menu, accepted as very healthy and delicious by the authorities, the restaurant became the first and the only enterprise, which has integrated Chinese cuisine and sushi under one roof.
Quick China also offers its customers a sushi course. The sushi course has been improved by the attendance of 300 customers. The participants are awarded with a certificate at the end of the course. The five lessons are based on far eastern cuisine and the last lesson is about sushi techniques. They teach both theory and let the customers practice to acquire practical skill. Around 90 participants have successfully completed the course to date.
Teppanyaki is suitable for the Far East restaurant concept. It is a Chinese version of the grill. With an exciting display by the cook the food is ready in one-and-a-half to two minutes grilled at a temperature of 300-400 degrees centigrade. It is advantageous that guests can directly communicate with the cook while the food is being prepared in front of their eyes. The grill has a special ventilation system. These days the restaurant serves not only Chinese food but also Thai and Japanese food.
