Bangkok the capital city of Thailand has major percentage of Thai population and the Thai Language is the most widely spoken Bangkok Language .
Considered quite a difficult language for a foreigner to pick up as there are as many as 13 words for ‘smile' only in Thai language. But obviously you can enjoy learning some of it if you can try like say if you want to describe smile then
Yim tak tai means a polite smile
Feun yim , a forced smile
Yim cheuat cheuan, winner's smile
Yim tang nam dtah , to express happiness
Yim sao , smile to hide sadness
And just think there are eight more variations of ‘smile' than one mentioned above.
As Thailand didn't have any foreign invasions there is no other language which gained prominence here and Thai remained the main language of Bangkok, but with the influx of a number of immigrants and expatriates English is also widely spoken specially in the tourist hotspots. Though it will help you know how to say hello in Bangkok, just greet a person with Sawatdee Khrab and a girl will say the same as Sawatdee Kaa.
For a tourist language will not be a problem in Bangkok as you will get people from many countries here like from Europe,America,Japan, Taiwan,India , South Korea , Nigeria etc. So you may hear the familiar language of your country here.
