In-between the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are the Shakar Parian Hills. This area is divided into two main viewpoints, the Eastern and the Western. The eastern viewpoint has beautiful cascaded lawns and terraces, with beautiful views of the city of Islamabad. The Sports Complex, Aabpaara Market beyond, the Kashmir Highway all the way to the Convention Centre and beyond is visible.
The western viewpoint overlooks the historic twin city of Rawalpindi, providing the visitor a beautiful view. The entire area has numerous other attractions, including the Natural History Museum, the Lok Virsa Museum, and the Lotus Lake. To get there, take Islamabad Highway towards Rawalpindi and turn left from the Shakar Parian turning. Very easy to find.
