Esperanza Aguirre Gil de Biedma was born in Madrid the 3 of January of 1952. Married and with two children, one received the master's degree in Right in the Complutensian University of Madrid and is civil employee of the Body of Technicians of Information and Tourism.

In 1983 it carried out his first positions public in the City council of Madrid, where it occupies the councils of Environment and Culture before being named first lieutenant of mayor and spokesman of the capital Consistorio. It gives the jump to the national policy in 1996, with his election like senator by Madrid in the General Elections celebrated the 3 of March of that year.

Two months later, Jose Maria Aznar chose it to become position of the Ministry of Education and Culture in the first Government of Partido Popular (PP), portfolio that left the 18 of January of 1999 to become the first woman who presides over the Senate. In March of 2000 election for the Senate repeats more, becoming the voted senator of Spain.
It showed the Presidency of the Senate until the 16 of October of 2002, when candidate of the PP to the Presidency of the Community of Madrid was proclaimed. After consecutively gaining the Autonomic Elections celebrated the 25 of May and the 26 of October of 2003, Esperanza Aguirre became the 20 of November of that year the first elect president of an autonomic Government in our country, position that renewed after the elections of the 27 of May of 2007. In these last elections, Aguirre also reached an historical popular support, being the president with more electoral endorsement of the history of the Community of Madrid.
