School roll: refer to a legal satatus or qualification that astudent belongs to a school.

Access method: a freshman, who is admitted in accordance with the procisions of Chinese National admission, can go through enrollment formalities with the admission notice ans those who passes the review are allowed to register and obtain school roll.

Credits: the colleges and universities in Chin generally implement the credit system. In general, a student can graduate only after passing curriculum examinations and achievine the required cerdits within the specified academic years in accordance with the university programs.

Way to obtain: To obtain the course credits, one need take part in the examination or write relevant thesis and pass the examination or the thesis. Some professors attach great importance to students' attendance and usual performance, and it is likely that attendance rate or the usual score is included in the final total score.

Degree: it is an academic title that the education degree and acdemic level of the person conferrer has reached the required standards. The grading of Chinese degree is linked to different stages of Chinese higher education. It has three level degree of bachelor, Master and doctor, which is consistent with that in many countries.

Way to obtain: bachelor degree shall be conferrednby a university with the authorization of the State Council; Master's degree or doctoral degree shall be conferred by a unversity or a research institute with the authorization of the State Council.

A graduate of a university, who has got good achievements and reached the required academic leve, shall be conferred bachelor degree.

Doctoral degree shall be conferred to postgraduate of a university or a research insititute or a person with equivalent education level who has passed Master(PhD) examinations and thesis answer and reached requires academic level. The university or reasearch institute shall confer the corresponding degree diplomas to the winners after academic degree evaluation committee makes the dicision of conferring degree. An excellent scholar at home and abroad or well-known social activist, who is nominates by the degree granting unit, may be conferred an honorary doctorate after the approval of Academic Degree Commission of the State Council.
