The Beijing National Stadium and National Swimming Center

 


The Beijing National Stadium, known as the bird's nest will be the main track and field stadium for the 2008 Summer Olympics, and will be host to the Opening and Closing ceremonies.


 

 

 

National Swimming Center is known as "Water Cube". It is a semi-transparent "cube", with "bubbles" spread out all over its surface, is a shape very similar to the structure of water.It will be used at the 2008 Olympic Games. After the games, it will become a recreational water park open to the public.


The buildings lie in the northeastern part of Beijing. In the picture, the bird's nest is on right and Water Cube is on left.You can take the No.5 subway, the satation is Huixinxijie Beikou, you must be out at the north exit,then you can go by taxi (the taxi should cost 10RMB) toward the west you'll arrive the buildings.
