¡°New Looks of Beijing City¡¯ and ¡°Old Vista in Beiping¡±

 

 

Product Explain :  This pair of ivory carving works used a pair of complete ivory material. New Beijing put up the Beijing new looks after Beijing liberation 10 years. The old Beijing described old vista in beeping. Specially carved many stand for old Beijing sign construct of architecture.(pailou). The works is full of Beijing`s folkloric lingering charm.

Author Synopsis : 
Zhang Junshan at the age of 14 began to learn traditional ivory-carving techniques from the famous master Zhao Hengli, Due to his diligence and studiousness, Zhang was able to create his own works by age 18.

Zhang`s pieces are true to life. In his works, figures have their own characteristics, pavilions and buildings are mangnificent and elegant, flowers seem fresh, and birds and insects almost real. "Magpie on a Plum," created in 1970s, and "Hundred Birds and a Phoenix," from the 1980s, enjoy great repute at home and abroad.

His "Five-Fan Screens" and "Princess of Peace" were selected by Zhu De, then Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, as rare works to be collected by the state in 1954.

His work "Two Birds Fighting After the Rain" and "Coming Back in the Rain" were presented as gifts from the Chinese goverment to Burmese friends in 1963
and 1964.
