Product Explain :

This works` material is real flawless Hetian white jade.

Author Synopsis :

Born into a family of jade carvers, Xia Changxin at the age of 13 began at the Yuchengxiang Jade Carving Shop, in Beijing, apprenticing under Li yao, a famous craftsman. Xia always copied the works of others and focused on the study of decorative designs. Through diligent study and consolidation of his extensive experience, he has now become an expert in the decorative design of jade carvings.

In 1957, Xia began work as a research fellow with the Beijing Research Institute of Artistic Handicrafts, and since then has created many an exquisite work. He has adorned each of his works with the image of a dragon, no matter the depth or shallowness of the carving. His works are famous for their simple gorgeous yet changeable form and style. The tigers, dragons and other animals he has designed embody features that are fresh and unique. His elegant, beautiful woks are delicate yet simple, classical yet novel, aspiring toward richness, variation and vividness, In 1978, his work "Jar with Elephant-Shaped Lugs for Rings and an Elephand-shaped Lid Button" was collected by Chinese Museum of Arts and Crafts.
