Be Cautious of Pollen Allergy during Spring Outing

With the weather warming up and the sun coming out, people usually go out to enjoy the spring season. Many people may encounter symptoms such as sniveling, sneezing and skin irritation that may resemble symptoms of the common cold; however, these are also symptoms of allergies.

According to Lee Hongtao, chief physician at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of XiangFan city, mild climates are agreeable for people going for a spring walk to enjoy the colorful flowers. However, the pollen of some beautiful flowers (e.g. gowan, dahlia, aster) and some trees (e.g. poplar, willow, elm, filbert, plane tree) as well as some common weeds (e.g. taraxacum) may trigger allergies, especially for those people with histories of allergies and respiratory diseases.  Therefore, once uncomfortable symptoms such as snuffling , sniffling, coughing, shortness of breath, skin redness and itching, goose pimples or hillock rash occur, victims should immediately go to  a hospital for examination and treatment.

At the suggestion of Chief Lee, to prevent pollen allergies, people should wear breathing masks and buy some anti-allergic traditional Chinese medicine from standard hospitals for prevention when going out.

Seven Aspects That Need to Be Refrained From During Springtime Outings

In spring, with the willow trees sprouting, birds twittering and flowers blooming, the peaceful, sunny weather is flourished with natural vigor. People are willing to go outside to relax themselves and build up their bodies from touring in green mountains and clear waters. However, there are seven aspects need to be refrained about spring outing.

Long distance:
Touring of suburbs is most favorable, and an appropriate journey should be under two days in length. An exceptionally long-distance spring outing will inevitably exhaust the travelers’ stamina and do harm to their health.

No hurry:
A job trot is favorable for spring outing, Travelers would do well to go out with family or good friends, sharing interesting stories or anecdotes with each other to have more pleasure as they travel.

Complicated and overloaded:
Due to the limited time and confined range of many spring outings, baggage should be as simplified as possible. So long as daily articles, clothing, snacks and some other necessities are prepared, a light baggage will contribute to your enjoyable journey.

Cold food:
During spring outings, meals usually are not regular, and it is necessary to have some snacks.  However, considering that the weather of spring often fluctuates between warm and chilly, travelers should refrain from eating cold food, lest intestinal tract diseases are exacerbated.  Also, the ordering of meat dishes, especially cold dishes from restaurants should be avoided.

Blindness:
Spring outings will benefit the psychological and physical health of travelers for they can control them at will. Owing to limited time(generally in the span of two-day weekends), an itinerary including destination and activities should be carefully arranged to boost the tour quality.

Violent conduct:
It is hard to avoid encountering some disagreeable people or situations during one's journey, however be sure to make the conflict sound less serious, or like nothing at all. You should keep your head down when going out.  The less trouble you encounter, the better, so calm down and take it easy.  Since the essential purpose of traveling is for relaxation and enjoyment, it is not necessary for the travelers to “make a mountain out of a molehill” and in so doing, do harm to themselves as well as others.

Impulse buying:
Shopping constitutes an important part of sight seeing. Some local, traditional wares or jade crafts are sold in many tourist attractions. Apart from the foods, some expensive articles should be regarded cautiously for purchase until you become able to distinguish the genuine from imitations.  For some cheap goods, you may buy them just because of their uniqueness, and then throw them away after a time. Thus it is also a kind of lavishing.
