Chongwenmen Subway Station is an underground subway station on the Beijing Subway's Line 2 and Line 5.

Chongwenmen station is named after the former city gate, Chongwenmen Gate, which used to stand in its place.

The Line 2 part of the station takes the form of six tan boxes. The Line 5 part of the station appears either as two boxes with glass stripes (exits A and B), or are integrated into the underpass system (exits C1, C2, D1 and D2). The livery of the station at platform level is either marble (Line 2 part) or brown (Line 5 part).

Interchange facilities: At-level escalators available for passengers changing lines at this station.

The interchange at Chongwenmen is relatively uncongested for much of the day (except for during rush hours). Often, passengers can find a spacious interchange with working at-level escalators, thus completing the interchange in just under a full minute.

Two flights of stairs in the Line 2 part of the station form the interchange passage to Line 5. All interchange passageways are unidirectional.

Lines 2 and 5 use different exits, although by means of the interchange passageways, all exits are accessible. Therefore, it is possible for a Line 2 passenger to exit using any Line 5 exit after passing through the interchange passageway; equally, a passenger entering through a Line 5 "box" (exit) can access Line 2 after using the interchange passageway.

Both Lines 2 and 5 use six exits each, bringing the total number of exits at Chongwenmen to 12.
