Tuanjiehu Park
For a lot of people, the pool inside the pretty Tuanjiehu Park is the easiest to get to in town, and it's a good all-rounder, with a huge pool, a small beach and a lot of space to lounge around in. The flumes are shorter than at Crab Island and Qingnianhu Park, and the lap pool and beach volleyball court look like they've seen better days. But the main pool is great, with straight slides in the middle, an incongruous static ship and a decent wave machine.

Qingnianhu Park
Qingnianhu Park swimming pool is probably the most beautiful of the big public outdoor pools, with a classical style that recalls the Art Deco pools of British seaside resorts - there's a pretty pavilion surrounded by willow trees by the poolside, an ornate dragon slide and flags fluttering above the water.

Hot Spring Leisure City
If you want to combine outdoor swimming with hot springs and brilliant flumes, it's worth heading out to the Hot Spring Leisure City in Changping, which surely has the best slides in town (though they're normally indoors, unless the retractable roof is open).
