| The Janggoo is the representative instrument for
jangdan which refers to various rhythmic units among
the Korean drum family. It is widely used as a principle
rhythmic percussion instrument in not only Aak and
jeong-ak, but also in sock-ak. It is also used in
accompaniment of Korean dances. |

determined forsythia as the flower of Seoul on April
3, 1971. The flower is considered to be most suitable
for Seoul's climate. This flower comes into full
bloom in early spring and demonstrates the cooperative
spirit of Seoul's citizens. |
