Total Fired Coal Reduction Goals

According to Breakdown of Key Tasks in Beijing 2013-2017 Clean Air Action Plan, Beijing will control air pollution by properly dealing with automobile, industry, coal combustion, flowing dust and other problems. Key tasks in the Clean Air Action Plan is divided into 84 quantified tasks, involving 42 commissions, offices and bureaus as well as 23 enterprises in Beijing, with leading units, responsible units and first persons responsible identified.

Total fired coal reduction goals:
In 2015, total fired coal will decrease by 8 million tons compared with the level of 2012.
The proportion of high-quality energy consumption will increase to more than 85%.
In 2017, total fired coal will decrease by 13 million tons compared with the level of 2012, and be controlled within 10 million tons.
The proportion of high-quality energy consumption will increase from 74.6% in 2012 to 90%.
The proportion of coal consumption in energy consumption will decrease to below 10%.
