After five years of efforts, Beijing has witnessed notable improvement of air quality and a significant decrease in the number of serious pollution days. By 2017, the annual average concentration of fine particulate matters in the air will be controlled at around 60μg/m3, representing a decrease of more than 25% compared with the level of 2012. To break this down,
--The concentration in Huairou District, Miyun County and Yanqing County will be controlled at around 50μg/m3, representing a decrease of more than 25%;
--in Shunyi District, Changping District and Pinggu District at around 55μg/m3, a decrease of more than 25%;
--in Dongcheng District, Xicheng District, Chaoyang District, Haidian District, Fengtai District and Shijingshan District at around 60μg/m3, a decrease of more than 30%;
--in Mengtougou District, Fangshan District, Tongzhou District, Daxing District and Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area at around 65μg/m3, a decrease of more than 30%.
