Improving Ecological Environment

The coordinated development of ecological environment is the baseline for the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. The three areas have conducted reform, made innovation and cooperated to establish and improve a trans-regional working mechanism for protecting the ecological environment. Achievements have been created: The Three-North Shelterbelt project has completed about 1,873-hectare shelterbelts; the treatment project towards sources of sandstorms troubling Beijing and Tianjin has finished treating about 13,133-hectare areas; the household coal use has been excluded from main urban districts of Beijing, Tianjin, Baoding and Langfang. In 2016, the PM2.5 annual average concentration in the Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei region declined  by about 33 percent as compared to 2013.
