The "My Beijing" photo competition that began in December 2008 officially came to an end on the 28th of February this year. The competition this time received thousands of entries from all over the world. Our participants came from many countries including the United States, Canada, France, Brazil, Australia, Israel, Singapore, Argentina, Lithuania, Italy, India, Holland, Tunisia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Korea, Egypt, Denmark, Thailand, amongst others.

The submitted photos enclosed the different areas of Beijing, including famous places like the Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Houhai, etc. Others captured the fighting spirit of Olympic competitors, people rejoicing at the bird's nest stadium, and even the vendors standing outside the stadium who covered themselves with merchandise. There were also shots of people enjoying the local cuisine of Beijing. Most of the participants felt that the Beijing Olympics created a lot of beautiful memories for them.

The trip to Beijing also sparked their interest to know more about the world. They expressed that they would love to visit Beijing again. The top prize is a trip to visit Suzhou, southern China, second prize is a Touch & Talk pen worth one thousand rmb and the third prize a book titled Essence of Beijing worth two hundred rmb.
