The Ming dynasty is the last unified dynasty ruled by the Han Chinese people in the Chinese feudal history. Most of the sport forms of this period were handed down from the Song dynasty. Wushu, whose system was set up in the Song dynasty, was further independent in the Ming dynasty and reflected a distinctive traditional culture and profound philosophy based on the theory of the ancient Yin-Yang, the Five Elements and the Eight Diagrams. Schools of Wushu were established during this period.
