Shanghai World Expo Beijing Week: "Charming Beijing" Performance in Celebration Square

Using traditional and modern art forms, "Charming Beijing" will be performed during Beijing week in Celebration Square. The performance emphasizes interaction, fashion and entertainment. It shows the world the brand-new look of time-honored Beijing, combining and regrouping the classic elements of ancient and modern Beijing.

The performance consists of three parts: "Happiness in Beijing", "Meet in Beijing" and "Love in Beijing". Infusing modern interpretations with the traditional art forms like dance, acrobatics, peace drum, martial arts, Beijing opera and catwalk fashion, the performance ends with a joyful song and dance program "Beijing Bless You".

Produced and performed by teams and artists from Minzu University of China, Beijing Dance Academy, China National Acrobatic Troupe, Beijing Opera House, Beijing No. 2 Middle School and more, the performance will present the voices and wishes from Beijing to the Expo 2010.

Performance time: May 4 - 8( 10:00-10:45 and 14:00-14:45)
