Lao She Memorial Hall

Lao She Memorial Hall was officially open to the public on 1st of February, 1999. It became totally free of charge since 2008. The little courtyard was an ordinary little Si He Yuan, the traditional Chinese quadrangle dwelling LaoShe bought after he came back from the United States in the beginning of 1950. Lao She lived here for 16 years and finished all his works after the founding of the People’s Republic of China in this little courtyard. Now the house on the north is exhibited as what it was before, appearing LaoShe’s the real life then, including Lao She’s writing room which was also his bedroom, the drawing room where guests were received which was also LaoShe’s wife Madame HU Jie Qing’s drawing room and bedroom.

Directions: Take Bus 104, 108, 103, 111, 803 or 420 and get off at Deng Shi Kou Xi Kou, then walk westward; or, take Bus 2 or 60 and get off at Fu Chan (Gynecological) Hospital, and then walk eastward to get to your destination.
Open Hour: Free during 9:00-16:30 from Tuesday to Sunday.
Reservation: Accept group reservation.
