Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra

The Hong Kong Philharmonic comes to Beijing with two different programs. On Jan 14, the late Romantic era is on display, featuring Richard Strauss's Serenade and Four Last Songs (with soprano Tatiana Monogarova), and Mahler's Symphony No. 5. Music director Edo de Waart conducts. On Jan 15, they perform an all-Beethoven concert. Chen Sa, an acclaimed pianist of the Lang Lang and Li Yundi generation, joins the group for Beethoven's Third Concerto.
